Xbox 360 Repair – Send It In Or Repair From Home To Fix The 3 Red Lights?

by 360fixed on June 2, 2011

Many people that have an Xbox 360 will not run into problems but if you do get some of the annoying hardware issues it can be a pain trying to figure out what is wrong and more importantly how you can fix the system.

There are many problems that the Xbox 360 suffers from but the main one seems to be overheating on the main chips which will cause 3 red lights to flash on the power button.

If you find yourself with this error you almost certainly have the red lights of doom and will need to stop the heat build up before you can play your games again.

There are 2 real Xbox 360 Repair options to get this down and the first is to send the system in and get it repaired from the factory and the other way is to repair the system yourself.

Both have their pros and cons and we will run through them now:

Xbox 360 Repair At Home:

This is the fastest way to repair your Xbox 360 but because you will be carrying out the fix yourself it can leave room for error.

Also your success relies heavily on the fix that you are using to try and prevent the 3 red lights and if you do not get a good fix then you may have to send it back anyway.

Make sure that if you are going to follow a guide you get one with a full guarantee and some preview of the actual fix so you can see how complicated it is before hand and you should be fine.

Xbox 360 Repair At The Factory:

This is a good choice to fix your Xbox 360 but you will have to pay out for the repair and this can cost up to $140! Also it can take a long 4 weeks before you get the system back so this can put a lot of gamers off.

The good thing of course is that you will know that you are getting a real fix if you don’t mind paying out and waiting for a long time!
